China Society of Sino-Japanese Relations History

The China Society of Sino-Japanese Relations History, founded in Beijing in 1984, is a national non-governmental academic organization. It was voluntarily created and maintained by scholars on Sino-Japanese relations history and people promoting the bilateral relationship. It is managed by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and is supervised by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

 

The Society aims to bring together scholars and non-scholars in the field of Sino-Japanese relations history, in an attempt to deepen understanding in the research area, to strengthen the academic and friendly relations between the two countries, to benefit the long-standing friendship shared by the people and to promote the healthy and steady Sino-Japanese relations.

 

The Society is comprised of the Council, the Standing Council, the Administrative Office, the Editorial Office, the Liaison Department and the Research Department.

 

The Society maintains close academic contacts with Japanese academic institutions by hosting educational seminars and symposiums, and discussing the Sino-Japanese relationship history and the current bilateral relationship with experts, scholars, politicians and diplomats of both countries. It also arranges frequent academic visits to Japan that helps to maintain friendly exchanges with Japanese people.
