Chinese Research Society of German History was established in 1980. It is a mass academic society of the study of German history. The society aims to unite researchers and teachers on German history all over China. It holds academic conferences, edits and translates documents, produces monographs, and organizes international academic communication, so as to promote the research of German history. Its members have made considerable achievements on academic issues, such as German Protestant Reformation, the Prussian pattern of capitalistic development, German cultural history, the division and unity of Germany, the development of German capitalism, the history of the German Empire, the modernization of Germany, the industrialization of German, the history of German Fascism, the history of German labour movements, the history of the relationship between China and Germany. The collections edited by the society include Papers on German History, Documents of the Relationship between China and Germany, Papers on the History of the Relationship between China and Germany, Documents and Materials on German History.
