Seminar of "From Bronze Age to Han and Tang Dynasties" Held at Center of Comparative Study between Chinese Civilization and Pre-Modern World Civilizations

  On July the 4-5th, 2019, the Seminar of "From Bronze Age to Han and Tang Dynasties" was held at Center of Comparative Study between Chinese Civilization and Pre-Modern World Civilizations, CAH.

  Center of Comparative Study between Chinese Civilization and Pre-Modern World Civilizations, CAH was established on June the 12th, 2019. Its aim is to invite and organize scholars on Chinese civilization and ancient world civilizations at home and abroad, so as to make cooperative and comparative research on the origins, structures, modes and developments of Chinese civilization and ancient world civilization under the guidance of Marxist materialism and with the resource of CAH and CASS. The center will undertake systematic and comparative studies on the communications, mutual influences and interruptions of ancient civilizations, compare the institutions and social developments in ancient history, in order to grasp the regular patterns of the development of human civilizations.

  This seminar stands for the very first academic activity held by the center. It focused on the communications among ancient and medieval civilizations in Eurasia, and discussed the contents and routes of the material and cultural communications within Eurasia in different periods, as well as their reflection of social development, economic system and ethnical and cultural features. Binghua Wang (researcher of Institute of Archaeology, Xinjiang Province), Xinru Liu (professor of Department of History, The College of New Jersey, USA) and Dr. Peng Wang (Institute of Archaeology, CAH) delivered their speeches.
