Ye, born in January 1970, is a graduate of the School of Government of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Since July 1991, Ye served at various departments within Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Since June 2022, Ye has been working as the Deputy Director at the Institute of World History (IWH).
