Department of Japanese and Eastern Asian History

   Department of Japanese and Eastern Asian History was established in 2019. Its members came from the former Department of Asian, African and Latin American History, which was one of the oldest departments at the Institute of World History (IWH). 

  Under the guidance of Marxism, the Department highlights comprehensive, contemporary and interdisciplinary studies, which covers the areas of Northeastern and Southeastern Asia, and involves studies of politics, economy, thoughts and historiography. 

  There are 6 researchers in the department now, including 1 research fellow, 4 associate research fellows, and 1 research assistant. All hold Ph.D. degree and can read several foreign languages as Japanese, Korean, English, and so on. 

  The studies of Japanese and Eastern Asian History is an advantaged discipline at the IWH, with some excellent works over the years. Besides, our department has undertaken a number of national projects, Class A and B projects of CASS, the Innovation Projects of CASS. 

  The department hopes to strengthen cooperation and exchange with colleagues in and outside the country, and sincerely invites young talents who are interested in the study of the Japan and Eastern Asian history to join us.
