  American History Research Association of China is a mass academic society established in 1979. It is charged by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and attached to Institute of World History, CASS. The commanding institution of the society is the council elected by the representative meeting of its members and is made up of the director, associate director, secretory general and several trustees.

  The society aims to organize and unite researchers and teachers on American history all over China. It holds academic discussions to share research and teaching experience, and discover historical talents; it edits and translates documents, produces monographs, and organizes international academic communication. The society has organized some scheduled and orientated academic conference on issues such as the American history in the age of the independent war, the formation of the American nation, the industrial revolution and its effects, the civil war and the post-war reconstruction, the domestic and diplomatic policies of F. Roosevelt and their influence, movements of American people, the American constitution and political system, the domestic and diplomatic policies of the USA from Nixon to Reagan, the teaching of American history, etc. The society also edited and published Selected Papers on American History and Papers on American History.

  American History Research Association of China also runs its journal Bulletin of American History Research Association of China.
