China Research Society of the USSR and Eastern European History, founded in 1985, is the most important scientific society for history studies of Russian, Eastern European, and Central Asian in China. Under its coordination, Chinese scholars in these fields organize domestic and international scientific activities in order to promote the research level. The Society is authorized to organize scientific researches and related activities among the members, to engage in the popularized education and scientific exchange with foreign scholars, and to edit and publish internal letters. The Society holds a conference each year, discussing the recent hot topics in studies. The published scientific works in the last two decades edited by the Society include Way to modernization: comparative studies of China, Russia, and Eastern Europe, Russian ideas and Russian way, Russian way: history and reality--perspective of Chinese scholars， etc.
