2017-07-24

Researcher Mamayeva (Наталья Леонидовна Мамаева) from Institute of Far East

On July the 11th,Researcher Mamayeva (Наталья Леонидовна Мамаева) from Institute of Far East, Russian Academy of Sciences visited Institute of World History and had an informal discussion with members of the Section of Russian and Eastern European History.

Researcher Mamayeva is expert in Chinese modern history. She shared her view on the Revolution of 1911, the National Government and the Communist International. She also introduced some new trends of the Russian historical studies. She pointed out that some contemporary Russian historians paid more attention to the compilation of historical textbooks. Nowadays, a few sets of historical textbooks coexist in Russia and are respectively preferred by different regions. Today’s authoritative textbooks are much more objective to the Russian history in the 20th century than textbooks in the 1990s. She recommended a few Russian historical textbooks to Chinese historians, including Russian Historical Geography by A. K. Sokolov and Russian History in the 20th and the 21st Centuries edited by O.B. Lobjev, C. P. Karbachev and P.H. Romanov.
