Lecture of Professor Qingjia Wang on “The Revival of the Study of Memory and Political History: a Paradoxical Development of the Contemporary Historiography”

    On June the 27th, 2017, Section of Historical Materialism and Foreign Historiographical Theories, IWH invited Professor Qingjia Wang (department of history, Rowan University, theUSA and Yangtse River Scholar, Peking University) to give a lecture titled “The Revival of the Study of Memory and Political History: a Paradoxical Development of the Contemporary Historiography”. Scholars from Section of Historical Materialism and Foreign Historiographical Theories, Editorial of World History, Section of Interdisciplinary Studies and Section and Ancient and Medieval History presented the lecture.

    Professor Qingjia Wang offered a concise summary of the development from Ranke’s historiography to the rise of the study of memory as well as the relationship between this procession and the revival of the study of political history in the 1980s.
