Lectures of Professor Allan Megill at IWH

  On July the 11th, 2017, Professor Allan Megill (department of history, The University of Virginia, the USA) visited IWH and gave two lectures on “New Trends and Important Issues in the Western Historical Theory” and “Historical Roots in Sentiments and Variations”.

  In his lecture titled “New Trends and Important Issues in the Western Historical Theory” in the morning, Professor Megill introduced and comments the latest accomplishments and research trends in historical theory and historical philosophy in the western academia.

  In his lecture titled “Historical Roots in Sentiments and Variations” chaired by Researcher Shunhong Zhang (director of IWH) in the afternoon, Professor Megill took one Jewish synagogue, one Ukrainian catholic chapel, one Ukrainian Orthodox synagogue and one Roman Catholic church in Rural Municipality of Willow Creek in Saskatchewan as example, discussed the historical experience and the modern of these churches, and furthermore comments the features and meanings of history written by ordinary people.
