The Annual Conference (2018) of Association for the Study of the History of Eastern European and the Soviet Union Held at Heihe College

　　On September the 20-21st, 2018, the annual conference (2018) of Association for the Study of the History of Eastern European and the Soviet Union as well as the third academic conference of Aumer Basin and Far East was held at Heihe College. The conference was joint-organized by Association for the Study of the History of Eastern European and the Soviet Union and Heihe College, and was held by Committee of History of Cultural Exchange between China and Abroad in Chinese Association of History of Sino-Foreign Relations. Over 90 scholars from about 30 universities and academic institutes, including Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shaanxi Normal University, Jilin University, Heilongjiang University, Heilongjiang Academy of Social Sciences and Heihe College, took part in the conference.

　　Xiquan Cong (vice president of Heihe College) held the opening ceremony. And Gang Wang (CPC committee secretary of Heihe College) and Shengfa Zhang (vice president and secretary of Association for the Study of the History of Eastern European and the Soviet Union) respectively gave speeches on the ceremony. After the opening ceremony, Reseracher Jingjie Li (academician of CASS), Nanquan Lu (honorary academician of CASS), Researcher Shengfa Zhang (Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies) and Professor Yulang Wang (honorary President of Institute of Far East Studies, Heihe College) respectively gave speeches on ‘Relationship between CPSU and CPC before and after the founding of the PRC’, ‘How to Promote the Regional and Financial Cooperation between China and Russia in the Strategy of One Belt and One Road’, ‘Efforts of Russia (Soviet Union) to Break Down the System of Versailles after the WWI: Retrospect in the 100th Anniversary of the End of the WWI’ and ‘Civilization of Aumer Basin in Historical Geography’.

　　The closing ceremony of the conference was held by Shengfa Zhang (vice president and secretary of Association for the Study of the History of Eastern European and the Soviet Union). Xiaoju Wang (vice president of Association for the Study of the History of Eastern European and the Soviet Union) summarized the conference and Xiquan Cong (vice president of Heihe College) gave a closing speech. The conference was successful and promoted the communication and discussion among scholars on the history of Eastern Europe and Russia.
