Members of IWH Visited Heilongjiang Province for Investigation of the Construction of “Database on the October Revolution (1917)”

　　On April the 10-14th, Mr. Wangjing Rao (vice president of IWH, leader of the team), Ms. Xiaoju Wang (IWH), Mr. Aijun Hou (IWH), Ms. Jie Sun (IWH), Mr. Chenglong Li (IWH) and Mr. Yu Xin (staff of Library, CASS) came to Heilongjiang University, Heilongjiang Academy of Social Sciences and Library of Heilongjiang Province for investigation of the construction of “Database on the October Revolution (1917)”. The themes of their investigation include “Research of the history of the October Revolution (1917) in northeast China”, “Research of the history of the October Revolution (1917) by scholars in Russia and the Far East”, “academic values and the significance today of the research of the history of the October Revolution (1917)”, “resources of the October Revolution (1917) in relevant libraries” and “experience of library informatization”.

　　The investigation was a success. Members of IWH became familiar about the collection of historical sources on the October Revolution (1917) in China (especially in northeast China), which can offer a solid support to the construction of“Database on the October Revolution (1917)” and the design of its features. They also gained ideas about database construction and informatization, communicated with experts on themes such as database construction, library resource construction, services for the reader and informatization, which can be helpful for the improvement and development of database construction of library of CASS and the informatization of IWH. The members of the team also built close friendship with Heilongjiang University, Heilongjiang Academy of Social Sciences and Library of Heilongjiang Province on behalf of IWH, which laid good basis for future cooperation for academic research and database construction.
