Academic Report by Jianxin Xu: The study of Japanese History from the Perspective of World Civilizations

　　On July 9th, 2021, the Department of Japanese and Eastern Asian History, IWH invited Jianxin Xu, senior research fellow of IWH, to give an academic report entitled “The Study of Japanese History from the Perspective of World Civilizations.” Xu started with the definition of the “Japanese Civilization” and discussed in depth the characteristics of recent historical studies on Japan and Eastern Asia. He also introduced the trend of Japanese study in China and shared his experience in his research field.
