The First Forum of Young Scholars of World History in China was Held at Weihai Campus, Shandong University

On August the 13-14th, the first forum of young scholars of world history in China was held at Weihai Campus, Shandong University. Over 70 scholars and experts from over 40 universities and academic institutes, such as Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Nankai University and Wuhan University as well as publishing organizations such as the Guangming Daily, the Commercial Press and China Social Sciences Publishing House took part in this forum.
The forum was held by the editorial of World History, CASS and School of History and Culture, Shandong University. Professor Luanzhai Gu from School of History and Culture, Shandong University held the opening ceremony. Professor Jiafeng Liu (vice president of School of History and Culture, Shandong University) and researcher Zairong Xu (associate editor-in-chief and dean of the editorial of World History) respectively gave their opening speeches. Researcher Chaoguang Wang (associate director of Institute of World History, CASS) attended the forum and gave a closing speech. The closing ceremony was held by associate professor Guang Yang (vice president of School of History and Culture, Shandong University).
The papers selected by this forum covered a wide range of new social history, new cultural history, environmental history, medical history, sentimental history, history of children, history of homosexuality, global history and history of the Cold War. Their broad visions and variable approaches are innovative and inspiring.
