A Symposium on the 30th Anniversary of the Founding of Historiography Quarterly Held by the Editorial Department

　　On 22 April 2017, a symposium on the 30th Anniversary of the Founding of Historiography Quarterly was held by the Editorial Department in Beijing. In addition to the editorial staff, about 20 scholars inside and outside the Institute of World History attended the meeting which was hosted by the executive deputy editor, Researcher Wu Ying in the morning, and then by the deputy editor, Researcher Jing Dexiang in the afternoon. Wang Chaoguang, the vice director of Institute of World History and the chief editor of Historiography Quarterly,expressed his heartfelt thanks for the supports of the exports and the scholars, believing that the journal couldn’t do without their full supports. Along with some questions in the research of China’s modern history, he demonstrated the importance of theory on the empirical research. And he thought that in the present excellent situation, how to promote history research to serve the times would be the future direction of the journal.
