Department of Latin American History

　　Established in 2019，as its research focus with modern history of Latin America, Department of Latin American History also explores ancient and contemporary history, and carries out monographic studies based on general, national and regional history, and oriented toward practical problems. 

　　In 2009, the Latin American History Discipline was established as the funded discipline of the Special Disciplines Construction Project of CASS. The IWH is responsible for the construction and management of this Discipline, and Hao Mingwei was invited as the academic leader. The Discipline undertook the Innovation Projects of CASS and other projects of IWH, published 5 translated works and more than 10 academic articles. In 2015, the Latin American History Discipline was confirmed as the funded discipline of Special Disciplines Construction Project of CASS. 

　　Currently, the department has 2 full-time researchers, including 1 Research Fellow and 1 Associate Research Fellow. We are undertaking one project funded by National Social Science Fund of China and one Innovation Project of CASS. 

　　The department hopes to strengthen cooperation and exchange with colleagues in and outside the country, and sincerely invites young talents who are interested in the study of the Latin American history to join us.
