Department of American History
Department of American History was founded in 2019 when it was separated from the former Department of Western Europe and Northern America. Currently, the main research focuses are American history and Canadian history. Renowned historians Huang Shaoxiang, Zhang Haitao, Huang Keke worked here. At present, there are 6 researchers, including 3 research fellows, 1 associate research fellow, and 2 research assistants, and 5 of them hold Ph.D. degrees.
Our research is to probe into the traces of economy, politics and culture of northern American countries, with emphasis on diplomatic, social, economic and environmental history.
Since its establishment, the department has undertaken some influential research projects. The research and achievement own good reputation both at home and abroad. Now, we are vigorously expanding external exchange and we warmly welcome young researchers aspired to studies of American history.
