Chinese Institute for History of the World War II

  Established in 1980, Chinese Institute for History of the World War II is a mass academic society on the study of history of the World War II. Its management is entrusted to Institute of World History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The commanding institution of the society, which consists of the director, associate director, secretary general, associate general and several trustees, is the council elected by the congress of its members. The society aims to unite researchers and teachers on the history of the World War II all over China, and to promote the research on the history of the World War II through academic discussions and communications. It used to organize several discussions on the history of the so-called “Pacific War”, the historical status and the importance of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War in the World War II, the origin of the World War II, the first stage of the World War II. It often organizes academic conferences in cooperation with the other institutes. The society has edited Papers on the History of the World War II and the journal Correspondence on the History of the World War II.
