Established in 1991, China Association of Modem World History is a mass academic society on modern world history with over 700 members currently. Its management is entrusted to Institute of World History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The leading institution of the society, making up of the director, associate director, secretory general and several trustees, is the council elected by the representative meeting of its members. 

　　In 1991, China Association of Early Modem World History and China Association of Contemporary World History was combined into China Association of Modem World History. It contains two branches, namely Council of Early Modern World History and Council of Contemporary World History. The activities of China Association of Modem World History include: a. holding academic conference b. organizing academic research.
